Food pyramid
The new USDA food pyramid or USDA food guide
pyramid provides a guideline of what people should eat to stay
lean and healthy. The food pyramid is provided by the US
Department of Agriculture or USDA. The USDA food pyramid is
shown below.

What the new USDA food pyramid recommends
As seen in the USDA food pyramid or food
guide pyramid, USDA food pyramid recommends plenty of low fat,
nutrient dense foods such as fruits, vegetables, cereal, bread,
and pasta with less of an emphasis on whole milk products and
high fat meats.
USDA food pyramid guide
The USDA food pyramid guide illustrates the
foundation that our diet should be built. At the bottom of the
USDA food pyramid are plant foods such as fruits, vegetables,
bread, cereal, rice, pasta and grain products. The top half of
the USDA food pyramid are milk and cheese products, meat,
poultry, fish, beans, and eggs. The very top of the USDA
food pyramid lies fatty products which should be used very
sparingly. When eating foods found at the top half of the USDA
food pyramid, you should pay attention to their fat content. If
possible, use the low fat versions of those foods.
